  The Neuro Trauma Specialty Unit is a high performing unit that exceeds quality measures. This department received HCA's 2022 Unit of Distinction award and placed 32nd out of all HCA facilities! That's in the top 3% of HCA! -
  The Neuro Trauma patient population includes adults of all ages with a variety of neurologic and/or trauma conditions. This team works with patients who have suffered strokes, seizures, traumatic brain injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and much more. One of the defining features of Neuro Trauma is how emotionally rewarding it is to care for these patients. This unit gets to see the impact that their work makes by watching their patients walk again, speak and start performing daily functions. If you have a heart for these patients and a desire to make a difference, this is the unit for you! -The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
  What you should expect to do in this role:--- -
  
  • You will collaborate with the Director to provide leadership to our team and play a role in---fiscal, human resource, and operational functions -
  • Your role will actively participate in department and hospital strategic planning and will effectively implement new programs and services -
  • You will be maintaining an effective competency and staff development program -
  • You will work on day-to-day operations such as: processing payroll, managing department expenses, participating on hospital committees, processing employee evaluations, managing personnel issues--- -
  • You will be assisting in maintaining a departmental staffing plan that meets the needs of the customer and is responsive to the changing census -
  • You will assure an appropriate skill mix and staffing levels in accordance with volume demands -
  • You will create/foster a positive environment and will lead by example and by holding staff accountable for their behaviors and attitudes (compassionate, professional, communicative) -
    What qualifications you will need for this role: -
    
    • -Current Kansas Registered Nurse License or valid compact license -
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course - American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required -
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course -
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required -
    • Bachelor of Science Nursing preferred -
    • Minimum of 2 years clinical RN experience preferred -
    • Two years progressive supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred -
